About Women…

OK…here it comes: this will probably be one of THE most controversial (and lengthy) entries (along with my thoughts on education), and we’ll see how many comments this one ends up getting…I don’t even know how to get this started really…ok…here we go:



Obviously, I’m single. Quite frankly, I don’t have time for a girlfriend (more so the drama that comes with having one). And NO I don’t feel like ‘making’ time for that. It’s interesting because when I spoke to 2 girls about this kinda’ thing (not having time for a relationship) they both said they’re being ‘selfish’ and focusing on themselves and their career for the time being. Wait a second. Of course I’M not being selfish. I’M being thoughtful. I always have a positive way to word things…I’m being thoughtful in the sense that I don’t want a girl to be stuck with a bf who doesn’t have time for her. Makes sense doesn’t it?



LOL Sorry…random thing to put in here: My mom just came down laughing cuz she said she just heard on the Ryan Seacrest show that back in 1985 the number one song this week was Dire Straits’ ‘Money for Nothing’. And apparently I used to sing that with my dad. I said: wait a second…I was 3?! She said yeah, you used to pretend you had a little guitar and sing “Money for nothing and chicks for free!”.



Back on topic: (yes I’m distracted VERY easily!) OK, now onto the characteristics I would like. I think everyone agrees that as you get older, you have more and more ‘requirements’ I’ve wanted to try and come up with a sort of checklist, but I thought it was kinda’ weird. These sites like Lavalife and Lemontonic give a good starting point. No, I never signed up w/ Lavalife…but YES! I’m a loser…I signed up to Lemontonic for a coupla’ days!! I actually haven’t logged in for probably about a month, but now I need to so I can make this list. So here it goes, Ian’s IDEAL Girl:



Physical Appearance: (Yes, I’m relatively superficial…don’t even try it. You know you are too!)

• Hair Color: Doesn’t matter (not something crazy like pink though )
• Eyes: Doesn’t matter as long as they’re nice
• Body Type (based on the Lemontonic options): Slim, Fit or *Average
• Ethnicity: Doesn’t matter
• Height: 5′ 1” – 5′ 9”
• Clothes Style: Casual
• Lung Size: A – C
• Nice smile / laugh
• Nice voice (not obnoxious)
• Clear complexion / skin

*Average: If you consider yourself somewhat overweight, I have established 3 categories for that. They are : “Chubby”, “Chunky” and “FAT”. Chubby is perfectly fine if you’re cute…Chunky means you might be pushing it…and FAT means you probably outweigh me by about 40-50Lbs and you should find a treadmill.



Basically, on a scale of 1-10 (Physical appearance), I would go for girls who are anywhere from 5 to 9. If you’re a 5 you would have to fill 99% of the personality pre-requisites (see below).



Physical Looks Ratings Scale:

10 – Perfect (I have yet to meet this girl)

9 – VERY good looking

8 – Good looking

7 – Somewhat good looking

6 – Average

5 – OK at best

4 – NOT Good looking

3 – UGLY

2 – Looking at you makes some people sick

1 – You shouldn’t be going outside (I have yet to see this too!)



Now to the tricky part:

Personality Requirements / Emotional Intelligence / Habits (Not necessarily in order)

• Religion: Christian (i.e. you have to believe in SOMETHING…what happens when you die?)
• Smoking: NEVER. (Visualize making out with an ashtray! )
• Drinking: Sometimes. (i.e. everything in moderation )
• Ambitious
• Intelligent / Educated (the whole intelligence vs. education will be explained in a future entry)
• Can think for herself (i.e. not afraid to disagree with me!) (there’s limits to this of course…)
• Tactful
• Strong (emotionally not necessarily physically )
• Good listener (cuz I talk A LOT!)
• Honest
• Culturally / Socially aware
• Adventurous / Likes to travel
• Musical (preferable if you can play an instrument or sing, but at the VERY LEAST appreciate music)
• Likes to help people
• Likes to go out and have a good time but can also stay in and ‘chill’
• Good sense of humour (i.e. you should laugh at a minimum of approximately 76% of my jokes)
• Witty
• Enjoys some sort of sports / physical activity
• Gets along with most of my friends. MUST get along w/ the family
• NOT easily jealous
• Doesn’t have ‘issues’
• Good life experiences
• NOT easy (i.e. hard to get)

Phew…I think that’s most of it. Yeah…I’m expecting a lot. I was talking to a girl a coupla’ weeks ago, and mentioned that I have YET to meet a girl who REALLY does it for me. This girl thought that I’m the kinda’ guy who would meet the right girl and then I’ll be married within a year. I wasn’t so sure about that…plus I just met this girl, so I asked my friend what he thought of that. He agreed, he basically said that it seems I have a pretty good idea of what I want and the surprise for me will be more WHO actually fits the bill. OK, time to go for boxing.
