Ottawa Report

I took another day trip (OK, I guess night trip better describes it) to Ottawa this wknd. Andrew wanted to go and asked me if I felt like coming so we drove down together on Sat. night. When we got there E was sitting around playing Command and Conquer Generals w/ his roommate. It seems this is what they do when they’re not doing…’other things’. We had some pizza and decided to have some drinks before we headed out.

One of the GIs told me a pretty crazy story when I was on MSN and I was then informed that it was confirmed I was supposed to be meeting up w/ her sis later that night. Sounded good to me! We told some other girls that we would meet them @ Fat Tuesdays because it was one of their bdays and being the nice people we are figured we should at least stop in and buy the bday girl a round! First things first…we call a cab, listen to some music, have a coupla’ drinks and go downstairs…and what do we see? At least 15 girls waiting around…I would say quite a few of them were cute. I believe I said “Hey Ladies!” and I think a few of them started laughing at me, but some actually smiled. Then one of them came up, introduced herself and offered me some Tostitos…very strange. Then a couple of them started talking to us and saying they were going to On Tap I don’t know anything about these OT bars, but whatever. Finally our cab gets there, and these 2 girls get in with us. Who were they!? We don’t know…but whatever doesn’t matter.

We get to FT and it’s some kinda’ “Piano Bar”? For those of you who don’t know what that is…I didn’t…there were some guys playing all these old songs (Beatles, Neil Diamond, etc.) on the Piano. They were pretty talented (i.e. I appreciated the musical skills) just not really my kinda’ place…lotsa’ old white people dancing around. I had a good laugh. 2 main things I remember:
1 – I somehow got a hold of some beads (Mardi Gras) NO I didn’t have to show anyone any skin! I offered to give it to one of the girls because I had no use for them. She then leans over and tells me something along the lines of “Well, I would show you some skin later but you live too far away!” I was like: “Ummmm….thanks….don’t worry about it! Just take the beads…” Apparently this type of thing only happens to me in Ottawa…
2 – This lady who had to be about 55-ish bumps into E and says “Sorry dear!”. Of course, we all start crackin’ up, and I tell E I’ll give him $2 if he goes and gets the granny’s phone number! He stands up, but then sits down again. Chicken. He then offers ME $2…eh, why not? So I walk over to the granny and from what I recall the dialog was something like:
-Hey there, I noticed you bumped into my friend!
-Yeah, I’m sorry about that.
-Don’t worry about it. You’re actually quite attractive (she was old and nasty!), I was wondering if I could get possibly get a phone number? :) (Shit…the things I do for $2.)
-Oh, I’m really flattered (I guess this woman took me seriously!!! lol), I would give you my #, but I just got engaged!
-Oh! That’s too bad….you should go tell my friend that. Anyway, nice talking to you.
I think she walked over and said something to E, I’ll have to ask him what exactly and I’ll fill this in.

That place got kinda’ boring so everyone walked over to Suite 34. When we walked in they were playing “Lean Back”…there we go…this is more my kinda’ place! NOW…there seemed to be some crazy girl stalking me there! As I walked in, this girl kinda’ bumped into me, I just looked at her and kept walking. Nothing special about her. Andrew and I decided to do the usual ‘club walk around’. Again, this girl crosses my path, but I don’t even give a second look. We get back to the bar where the rest of our group is standing. We get a couple more drinks; Eason goes to make a phone call, and Andrew starts talkin’ to this other girl. What happens? The stalker girl comes up to the bar right next to me and decides to make conversation. You’ll see…I TRIED to be nice:

Stalker: Hey, what’s that?
-It’s a rum and coke. (I then look away)
-Cool. (pause) so how old are you?
-I’m old. (I look away again)
-Well, I consider old to be like 33 so I’ll be surprised if you’re that old.
-I’m not that old.
-OK, so u’re like 24-25?
-I’m OLD. [Take a hint and get outta' here!]
By this point I start talking to another girl in OUR group, thinking this one will leave…but she stays next to me.
-OK, so what do you do? Where do you study or work?
-I’m working at Pratt right now.
-Cool. (pause) …what’s that??
-Aerospace.
-Nice. (pause) I have a job too.
-Great. [Can you go away now?]
Thankfully E comes up and I give him the “Get this bitch away from me!” look. He pulls the old “your gf is on the phone” trick I’m like “Oh yeah, lemme’ talk to her! I have to see her later!” One of the GIs was actually on the phone so I did have to take the call! I just took the phone and walked away…lol…I believe she left after that and didn’t bother again :) . And which girl told me that GUYS are relentless???

On a happier note, Andrew managed to pick up a girl in OT who lived in Montreal by saying something like “Well, my friend [he was talking about me] can get you into a few clubs in Montreal, so if you wanna’ give me your number we can all meet up!” Hey as long as it worked…lol. The girl also told me that she has a Mexican and a Quebecois roommate who would probably like me…she mentioned they were hot, so we’ll see what comes about of that. ;) This girl was actually a business person from France, but I don’t remember where she works now. I’m always happy to extend my network of contacts. Of course, a night out w/ E is never complete unless there’s some girl drama…so there was a bit of that. I think one of them actually said “You guys disgust me.” Ah well whatever I think she was just mad we were takin’ off. OK time for bed…I’ll finish up the rest of the night in tomorrow’s entry….
