My teammate and I had to do our second presentation in class today. He suggested we just wing it and see how we handle ourselves. Don’t ask me how I agreed to this, probably because I was tired! The good news was: according to the teacher we presented the case very well. The bad news: we got destroyed during the question/answer period. It’s so weird that the cases we’re supposed to be working on are supposed to be MIS cases. However, they end up being Marketing or Strategy cases classified as MIS because the company in question is somehow related to high-tech! Whatever.
We won’t be this poorly prepared at the competition assuming we make it to the final. It turns out we actually have 5 hours to prepare a 15 minute case; not 3 hours to prepare a 20 minute case as we originally thought. I have NO IDEA how time flew by so fast. We’ve had this ICBC case since October 4th or so, it’s due Monday (November 1st) and of course we haven’t started. We’ll be spending the next couple of days completing it together. It should be fine…I hope!
