I was bored last night, so I added a couple of new features [I found in the “Blog Hacks” section] to the blog:
Drop Down Archive Menu – The archive list is now in a menu so it’ll only take up one line of space rather than a line for each month.
“Peek-a-Boo” Comments – Using JavaScript, the comments now show and hide with a single click. You don’t have to navigate away from the main page anymore. Very convenient.
Wikipedia: Events on this day – This was my favorite. It took about 2 mins. to implement. Credit where it’s due: This script comes from the New Links blog. I think it’s my “laziness” that leads to my efficiency. Whenever I come across a task I find boring or repetitive I always think: “There must be a faster/easier way to do this.” After taking a moment I usually figure something out and the job is done. Work smarter not harder? No. Work smarter AND harder. Now, on people’s birthdays, instead of me manually typing up other people born on that day, one can just use the link above and see all events for the day. This is also good because if I forget your birthday, you can still use the link to see the events! :P
