What a journey…we’ve been travelling non-stop for the past 2 days. We’ve had 5 hours of sleep in 2 days. I’m not going to bore you with the details of travelling on the back of the bus, but as always, NOT FUN!
We got delayed at the checkpoints (where I noticed a much heavier military presence on both sides) and then there was a further delay in Killinochchi. We only ended up in Mullaitivu at 19:30 or so and I could get proper pictures of the building. It’s almost done. They just need to install the doors and windows now. I went and met with the Lawrances; the goods for the shop have been purchased, we will have a sign made and I will have pics once the shop is re-opened (hopefully in the next couple of weeks).
We spent the night in the same church I slept in back in March. It was weird (and fun) to think back on the trip and realize that this was the last time I would…
Take a shave/shower at a well
Use a squatting toilet
Sleep on concrete
Get questioned at a checkpoint
Ride those bicycles without brakes
Wake up next to a chicken or a spider the size of my hand
Stand on an extremely crowded bus where people are standing on ME
Well…last time for now…
