I was asked to speak to the new students at the JMSB coop orientation session today. I prepared the speech this afternoon and delivered it a couple of hours later. I had a couple of jokes, which always concern me in case people don’t laugh! Good news: they were laughing!
I got some very positive feedback afterwards from the director and some of the students. I think the speech went well because I really believed in what I was saying. The dean apparently said: “Wow, I’m glad I didn’t have to speak after him!”. Positive feedback is always nice!
I had to go to the coop rally afterwards…I was telling the director: “You don’t realize the value of public speaking and presentational skills until you see people who are not very good!”. Anyhow, I gave the students my blog address and told them if they wanted to know more about me or get in touch with me, they can do it through this. If any of you who were there are reading this: Again, feel free to contact me for anything and I hope you enjoyed the talk. Thanks for laughing listening!
