The Book Baton

It seems I have been passed a book baton by Electra. Thankfully while in Sri Lanka I did purchase [and read] a bunch of books. I would have been a little embarassed if I had got this 6 months ago! I figured I’d do it since a bunch of others already have. Here we go…

Number of Books on Shelf
Too many to count, although I haven’t read most of them! :P Many are my books from school and Fortune magazines.

Last Book Purchased
The Art of War – Sun Tzu
A “must read” for anyone interested in strategy.

Currently Reading
The End of Poverty – Jeffrey Sachs
A great book given to me by my favorite aunt who I miss seeing on a regular basis!! :(

The da Vinci Code – Dan Brown
I got this for Christmas from my ex just before I left to Sri Lanka. I was supposed to read it on the plane but I forgot it at home. I’ve started reading it now. People tell me it’s good…we shall see.

Last 5 Books Read
The Art of War – Sun Tzu

The Dilbert Future – Scott Adams
Very funny book. The last chapter about Scott Adams’ world view is absolutely mind boggling. I’ve been meaning to blog about it for a while. I’ll get to that eventually…

Colpetty People – Ashok Ferrey
I don’t normally like fiction, but this was a fascinating (sometimes humorous) insight into the Sri Lankan psyche.

The Dilbert Principle – Scott Adams
Another “must read” for anyone in (or going into) the corporate world.

Winning – Jack Welch
A well written, easy to read, practical book about the attitude and skills needed to get ahead in life. Highly recommended.

Books that Mean a Lot to Me
The Bible – People inspired by God
There are very few things in life that “mean a lot to me”. If I had to pick a book it would have to be this one. I’ve read the whole thing once when I was really young. I always enjoy the book of Proverbs because it’s very practical. I like practicality because I like to put what I learn to good use.

Passing the Book Baton to…
I don’t know anyone who reads books…just kidding. I know 1 or 2 and neither of them blog. Wait. Got it: I’m passing this to Hugo.

There you have it folks.

In other news: I start school in exactly one week. I haven’t been in school for over a year now, so we’ll see how that goes. Tonight I get to meet my commerce games teammates who I’ll be working with all semester. Hopefully they’re cool; I’ll keep you guys posted.
