Exploring Södermalm

First things first: today is my mom’s birthday- Happy birthday!! :D OK, so…

The other day I went to Södermalm, which is a trendy/hippy/artsy area of town. I went in the middle of the afternoon so there weren’t many people around and there wasn’t much to see. I took a ferry to another small island but the ferry stopped for like a minute and left again. By the time I realized I was supposed to get off it was too late! lol I went to another island where there was an amusement park (which is closed at the moment.)

Finally, on the way home I went to the Kulturhuset (Culture House) which is a very neat place where they have art exhibitions and other cool things for free! You can also read newspapers from all over the world and there’s one floor designated just for children. It’s very cute to see all the small kids with their parents.

An interesting design for a house. I like the way the apartments are setup; it’s very European (obviously!) and apparently Germany looks just like this. The last picture is the dock and this is where you can catch the ferries to some of the other islands surrounding Stockholm. The monthly transport pass includes ferry rides! :)

The first picture is Stockholm center, the second one is another small island. You can see the flag on top! :) Finally, I came across this building which I thought was interesting. It turns out it was a circus!

Finally, a LONG row of baby carriages at the Kulturhuset! :)
