Experiment: Audio, Video and Emotions

I need your help for one of my last university projects! :) This experiment should take less than 5 minutes to complete. You should be (preferably) in a quiet setting and you have to have sound enabled on your PC. If you’re interested in reading more, you can scroll to the bottom of this entry. Thanks!! :)

You will see a series of images in each video that are intentionally supposed to evoke sadness. Try to remember how sad you feel (on a scale of ~0-10) when watching each [slightly different] video.

Step 1: Ensure your sound is turned ON
Step 2: Watch each 40 second clip in the sequence given
Step 3: Click the link to answer the short (6 questions) anonymous survey

Thank you very much for participating. I understand it is difficult to rate emotions on a scale of 0-10 but I am interested in the emotions felt relative to each video. Thus, if you feel that one video is sadder than another your emotional rating should correspond. There is a field to leave comments in the survey, but please feel free to leave comments about the experiment on this site directly as well. If you would like to view larger versions of the videos they are available on Google Video here: V1, V2, V3 and V4. This project is for the Musical Communication and Music Technology course at KTH university in Stockholm, Sweden. I will post the results on my blog once the research is complete.
