On Thursday June 22nd we went to Dunnottar Castle which was about an hour out of Edinburgh. Here’s a link to the wikipedia article for the castle. It seems that the 1990 movie Hamlet (with Mel Gibon and Glenn Close) was filmed here.

I stuck my hand out of the sunroof to get a picture of the Forth Road Bridge. Not great, but I tried! The second picture is Liza, Michael, Heshani, myself and my mom outside of McDonald’s where we stopped to have lunch. When we reached the countryside just outside the castle I saw some cows.

We walked up to the castle and saw some rabbits. Can you spot them? Finally a pic of the castle looking over the North Sea.

M and Hesh, then M, Liza, mom, Joanna and I. Finally is M showing Liza some birds probably.

Here are some of my more artistic pictures with the light shining through.
The first pic is the archway as you enter the castle. Second, was the [small] area where they kept the Christian prisoners during war times. Last is the window the Christians could look out of!

The first pic is a hearth which reminded my mother of her grandmother’s old house or something. Nothing really exciting, but I took the picture for her.
Secondly, the dining room and the ceiling.

Joanna, Liza and I, then Liza and Hesh and finally a pic that I wanted where you can see an interesting structure in the distance. I asked the girl at the front what it was and she told me it was a war memorial.

These are the pictures when we went to the small “museum”. Someone wrote a long entry in the guestbook abo
ut paranormal activity and how they were disappointed they hadn’t seen any. I didn’t want anyone else to feel bad, so I made sure to mention I didn’t see anything paranormal either. Unfortunately, Joanna didn’t see any puffins, but I saw one!

Finally some pictures of the castle as we walked away. That concludes my trip to Dunnottar castle!
