Gmail Custom Time: Be on Time. Everytime.
This morning, I saw the “Custom Time” feature on my Gmail and thought: “Wow, I wonder how ethical this is since I’ll be able to hand in assignments late, but they’ll actually be on time?” When I read the section about a limit of 10 per year because then people would lose faith in time, I began to smell something fishy…
As I read the page, I only realized it was April 1st when I read: “…You’ll only be able to send email back until April 1, 2004…” Despite knowing that Google plays a fun April fools joke every year, I seem to fall for it every time!!
That was funny. Thanks Google, for making my April Fools entertaining as always!! :)

As I read the page, I only realized it was April 1st when I read: “…You’ll only be able to send email back until April 1, 2004…”
That’s when you realized it?
It hit me when I read “Gmail utilizes an e-flux capacitor to resolve issues of causality”
LOL – Yeah, knowing that Google pulls pranks on April Fools, it hit me as soon as I saw April 1st!
Seems this wasn’t the only prank Google did! Here’s a good roundup of the rest!

It only took me about a half hour after my angered rant to realize it was a joke.
But in all fairness, it was shortly after I woke up and I’m much more gullible in the morning.
Kristin – Fair enough…I had already been up for a couple of hours when I saw it! :) The rant was great though!!
Actually if you use a custom email client or send an email from a customized SMTP server (if you host your own one) you can easily change the Sent Date! That’s how spammers do it. E-Mails are so insecure (see spam)
Someone tried to send me that – I refuse to believe anything that anyone tells me up until 12:00 on April 1st! :$
@Daemon – Oh really?? I wish I had known that back when I was in university!! :)
@Scrumpulicious – Sadly, it’s been a long time since I’ve pulled a good April fools prank on somone… :( Maybe next year! :)
